Lesson Notes
In Mondays lesson I was on the macs editing our title sequence, all I have to do now is add the titles into the title sequence and the music then we will be done. i believe the title sequence could of gone better but we kept changing our idea so wasnt left with alot of time to shoot and edit. I do believe that other team members could have put more effort into this title sequence and helped out alot more instead of not turning up to lessons or not contributing to tasks that are set. Also when i was editing the title sequence I didn't receive any help from team members.

Lesson Notes
Havent posted in a while so in this post will conclude everything we have done.
Last week as a group decided to change our idea from using a doll in the opening title sequence to lego, by doing this we could easily make our own set and therefore be able to use the props more easily to make the title sequence look smoother, we successfully filming with the lego but then was advised to scrap the idea of using lego because lego does not relate at all to our film. We then came up with the idea of going back to the original idea of using real people but changed the idea around a little. On sunday the 29th of January me and another team member went to my house so we could film, we successfully took over 700 photos and managed to finish the title sequence, currently i am editing the title sequence together but having difficulty adding the music. by looking at the title sequence i will take into consideration that speed settings may need to be changed and there may be some lighting errors.

Lesson notes
In yesterday's lesson we started to write lyrics for our music that we are using for our opening title sequence. Whilst the group was doing this I continued to edit the footage that we already have and looked over for any mistakes.

Lesson Notes
In this lesson we succesfully filmed the opening of our title sequence where the young girl is playing with the doll, we then sucessfully took the first 65 photos where the doll is in the bed and the quilt moves down. this went really well and we found no implications, we took photos in a dark room where lamps were our only source of light, we did this so when taking the photos the lighing wouldnt change. i then edited the sequence together and think that this lesson went well.

Filming and Planning
In our lesson today we had a new member join our group and we filled him on our film idea and out title sequence idea so we know have 4 members in our group. Me and another member went onto a sight location and shot the ending of our title sequence this is where the title sequence ands and then we show the first 9 seconds of our film.
The other 2 team members got a child who could play the little girl at the beginning on the title sequence. We then are planning to film the opening of the title sequence.

Testing Stop Motion 2
In our lesson with shaun as a group we decided to test stop motion again but with the actual doll and background that we are going to use.
This could have gone better because even though we positioned the camera on a tripod the camera was still moving and this took away the effect of stop motion.

Plans for next lesson and notes
For tomorrows lesson we are planning on testing out stop motion skills but actually using the props for our opening title sequence, we will be testing a certain scene that we are going to actually going to put into our stop motion titles sequence which will be the scene were our character is flying through the air whilst holding onto a newspaper. We hope that this scene will be successful because this will truly test whether or not we have the ability to pull the opening title sequence off.
All of our props are going to be hand made which means that if they need improvements or need changing we can do this as we wish.
Our original idea was to use a person in out opening title sequence but now we have decided to use a doll because the way we wanted to shoot wasn't workable and would of required to much work which we wouldn't of had time to complete.
We are planning at the end of our title sequence to show the opening few seconds of our film. This is only possible if we have enough time.
Lesson Notes
In yesterdays lesson we went through our storyboards and were advised to restart because the way i decided to draw them would have taken to long and we wouldn't of had enough time to complete them, we always wrote out a new schedule and a lesson plan.

struck by rain film idea
Our film is about a woman called Sarah Bailey (played by Idina Menzel) in her thirties, she had a tough time trying to pursue her dream of being on the West end and be famous for doing something she loved and has always loved from a young age. Until she stumbles across a newspaper article, saying that the close theatre is holding auditions to play the leading roll of Elphaba in the West End play 'Wicked'. She immediately sees this as her once in a life time chance to make it to the West End and she jumps at the opportunity and leaves no time in making the phone call to schedule her audition time.As the day comes for her to make her audition, she goes there with all confidence in herself. She sings her heart out hoping that this is it, that this is her chance, just to be told by the director Martin Smith (played by Hugh Janaro) that she isn't what they are looking for. She gets upset and runs out of the theatre, breaking down when she gets outside thinking that she will never get a chance like this again. She believes that she will never be good enough to get on the West End after this major let down. So she decides to give up trying. To make things worse for her it starts to heavily rain and she is drowned in wetness. She wishes her life away, and wishes she could live her life like a musical, hoping that it would end happy. As she is hailing for a cab she gets drenched by a passing car, which drove through a rather large puddle. Shortly after getting drenched she wishes that her life could be better and that she could live her West end dream. There is a struck of lightning above her in which her whole life begins to change... She wakes up the next day not knowing that her life was any different so she carries on with her day as she would usually. Until she tries to leave her apartment door which she finds herself being attacked with questions...'how does it feel'...'do you think you'll be the next best thing in the West End'...'are you coping with all the shock'. She finally starts to question what is going on, she is very confused by this point and starts to realise that something in her life has changed on a large scale. She carries on with her day, trying to figure out what this change could possibly be. She gets some very strange and exited looks whilst she is doing her daily routines, she bumps into a handsome young man that she surprisingly recognises, he happens to be the director that was holding auditions for the part of Elphaba. She starts talking to him, starts getting to know him and eventually starts to fall for him. Still getting swarmed everyday with questions from people, and people asking for her signature. She starts to ask herself if this is the life she even wants to live. She gets bored of the fame, gets bored of the life that she is currently living and tries every way possibly to go back to how she use to be. Realising that she would lose everything, including Martin. She goes to work one day finally realising that this definitely is not the life that she wants. So she quits the theatre business and walks out. Only to find that when she gets outside it's a massive down pour of rain exactly like the day she got rejected from playing the part of Elphaba. She hails a cab, gets in and just breaks down. The cab driver recognises her, and asks for her autograph and she cries...' you cannot have my autograph i am just a normal girl with a normal life....i want my life back to the way it was. I WISH i was me again'. She goes home and just goes to bed, still wishing for her life to be normal. She wakes up the next day, no reporters. No posters of her around london. She goes to the theatre and finds Martin, she then asks him out on a date...
Struck by rain Tilte sequence idea
Starts with Sarah Bailey in bed.
The quilt moves down the bed uncovering her in her pajamas.
Whilst the quilt is moving her arms come up to rub her eyes (close up).
Then arms come down (long shot) and she turns over.
Once she has fully turned over. Her bed moves from underneath her and pillows come together to form stairs to and then she walks down the pillows to make it look like she is walking down stairs.
Her clothes then changed from pyjamas to everyday wear clothes.
Shops then start to appear within the background.
A newspaper article flys past her and you then see her chasing it.
She then grabs the newspaper article and takes off into the air.
Once shes looking at the newspaper article then a load of leaflets fly past with the names of other musicals on them.
She looks at the newspaper article looking amazed and then settles back down to the ground. She carries on walking in people. One person in particular that she walks into martin the director of the show she is auditioning for.
It then starts to rain and she then runs to the audition...
Typography ideas

These are our typography ideas for our film, we do not know which one to pick yet but our favourite so far is the second one.

Testing stop motion
During our lesson with Mr Grimsley, we decided to test our stop motion skills and decide whether
wenwas good enough for our stop motion title sequence.
We encountered a few problems when doing this stop motion:
- There were flicker lights in the room so the lighting on the camera kept changing.
- My arm kept appearing in shot so this ruined the technique of stop motion.
- The movement of the bottle needs the be cleaner and smoother.

Analysis of 2 films that are the same genre of my film that i have created.
Enchanted.
A classic Disney fairytale collides with modern-day New York City in a story about a fairytale princess who is sent to our world by an evil queen. Soon after her arrival, Princess Giselle begins to change her views on life and love after meeting a handsome lawyer. Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?
Coraline
A classic Disney fairytale collides with modern-day New York City in a story about a fairytale princess who is sent to our world by an evil queen. Soon after her arrival, Princess Giselle begins to change her views on life and love after meeting a handsome lawyer. Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?
This relates to our film because the storyline of our film is that a female from London wants to become big on the west end and wishes for a different life, she then comes to realise that this life isn't all that she wanted and wants to go back home.
What makes this film this genre?
The genres for Enchanted is romantic comedy, family and fantasy.
What makes this film a romantic comedy?
During the film Giselle is trying to get back home to her prince Edward but what she hasn't realised is that he has come to New York to find her and bring her home, she then starts to fall in love with Robert the man who saved her from falling off a billboard display and has to choose whether to be with Richard or Edward.
What makes this film a family film?
The film is a Disney film so straight away this screams family film, also the film starts off animated, and relates to snow white becuase a witch is trying to poison Giselle with an apple.
What makes this film a fantasy Film?
It is a fantasy film because it deals with a princess being transported into another world and trying to get back home.
Typography used?
The typography used is very Disney Orientated.
Coraline
An adventurous girl finds another world that is a strangely idealized version of her frustrating home, but it has sinister secrets.
This relates to our film because Coraline goes into an AU where she believes that she gets everything she wants but this new found greed comes at a price. where as in our film Sarah Bailey goes into this AU believing all her dreams has come true but soon wants to return homes because she missed her former life.
What makes this film this genre?
The genres of this film are Animation, adventure and family.
What makes this film an adventure film?
this film is an adventure film because Coraline Ventures into an unknown world and has an adventure doing so.
What makes this film a family film?
This film is a family film because of the storyline and animation.
